A (Not So) Short Bio, Indeed

​

On being blessed with early and tender spiritual experiences: these have formed a conduit of faith which has utterly saved me time and again, in every sense of the word. Indeed, this astounding source of amazing grace ever rescues, revives, and rejuvenates still my soul.

​

On having the great fortune of a grandmother's upstairs library: it was here I met first the Caldecot and Newbery classics, enduring poets, composers, story-telling icons, and literary giants. Indeed, I was irrevocably impressed.

​

On having an antique, script, manual type-writer tossed my way in my tender years: indeed, in addition to settling arthritis into my feisty fingers, it developed eventual vocations, and nurtured my budding muse.

​

On being married to my childhood sweet-heart and best friend for 32 years: I am in complete awe of our incredible journey together. We have been honed and humbled even as we’ve been bathed in bliss. I am so grateful he has been so long now such a faithful, capable, and especially good-humored companion. Indeed, words fail even a wordsmith to convey such a divine devotion or adequately describe the joys of such a happily-ever-after.

On being adoptive-foster parents for nearly a quarter of a century: this means bevies of babies and bus-loads of youth of all ages and stages have graced our home, profoundly altering us. Indeed, with 13 adopted, and three procured the old-fashioned way, these 16 precious people who have possessed us heart, soul, and pocketbook - have also primed, polished, and preserved us.

On all the above and more, my family, dear friends, Walk of Faith, and my writing journey: these have indeed, all made for the richest of lives and the ultimate, beautiful-mess. It is to my great surprise and delight that such a crazy-wonderful menagerie has somehow chosen me!
